Pull Ups!

Bryton has recently started pulling himself up to standing positions on pieces of furniture. I can't believe how fast he is growing! He will be walking in no time! YIKES!

Of course, this activity usually ends up with him falling and often bonking his head and then screaming, but this time it ended okay!

Jamestown, Yorktown, and Historic Williamsburg

We recently took a vacation to Virginia to the Colonial National Historical Park to spend some time together as a family. We stayed at a really neat resort in Williamsburg and had a lot of fun. Larry and I are big on visiting sites with historical significance- for some reason we just find that kind of stuff interesting and entertaining. We visited Jamestown, which was the first permanent settlement that the English built when they came to settle the American colonies. It was amazing to look at all the buildings and things there, because it was first settled in 1607, and it just blew my mind that it was that old. We also spent a lot of time in Historic Williamsburg. They have this huge area set up with all the old buildings and things that were originally there in the 1700's and they try to keep cars out and things like that so that it really feels like you are back in a colonial town. They have actors in costumes who act out all these scenes from the time of the Revolutionary War all around you as you are walking through the town . It was really interesting. The last place we spent some time was in Yorktown, where the last major battle of the Revolutionary War took place and the British soldiers surrendered to George Washington and his troops. It was fun seeing all these sites that were such a big part of our nation's history. It made me very grateful for what the founders did to make us a free nation. Okay, get ready for a LOT of pictures!

Jamestown Settlement

For some reason Larry always likes to make this "looking off into the distance" face in pictures. I guess he thinks it makes him look hot or something.

Re-creations of the ships that brought the settlers from England to Jamestown.

Bryton couldn't stop staring at this grizzled old man on the ship.

Yorktown
This whole night Bryton was squealing with laughter for basically no reason- It was hilarious. We couldn't figure out what was so funny.

Cougar Crazy?

Every year we get season tickets for the BYU football games. Larry and I are obsessed, die-hard fans, so this year we were excited to take Bryton with us to the games and start indoctrinating him with a love for BYU sports early. We got him his own little BYU shirt and everything and we were so excited- but I guess Bryton wasn't too entertained!

It was a fun day anyway!

Happy Boy!

Bryton is always so smiley and happy! On this day we were getting him ready to go swimming and he was laughing and making the cutest faces- I just had to get some pictures! I am an obsessed mother!

Larry looks kind of mad in this picture, which is funny because Bryton was cracking us up at the time- I must have snapped at just the wrong moment!

What life is all about

I love moments like this when Bryton decides to be snuggly and just lets me hold him. It doesn't happen too often with an active, growing boy, but I treasure those moments when it does!
