Since I've been home with Bryton during the days instead of working, I've had a lot more time to notice what my house looks like. Spending more time at home has made me eager to do a lot of home decorating projects (much to Larry's dismay- he has realized that when I have more time at home I tend to spend more money- oops!). I am finally getting almost finished with Bryton's room. He has been sleeping in a Pack-n-Play in our closet since he was born, (I know that sounds awful, but it is a large walk-in closet)because in our house the secondary bedrooms are upstairs and the master is downstairs. I was not willing to walk up and down the stairs several times a night to feed him, so it was just easier to have him close- in our room, but not in our room- get it? Now that he is getting to the point where I am about to go cold turkey with him for the night feedings (No more after 6 months!)I figured I should get his room finished. Finally. Next, I decided that since we have a new member of our family now, we needed pictures of him around the house. I've been using all those free picture coupons that you get when you have a baby to get portraits taken, (of course I always end up buying some too)and working on a wall with picture frames where we can put his pictures. (And of course getting other picture frames to put pictures of him elsewhere throughout the house too- Larry likes to give me this LOOK when I come home with all of this stuff). Finally, I decided that I was getting sick of looking at the same comforter and stuff that we've had in our room for about 4 years and went and got a new comforter, pillows, and sheets for the bedroom, as well as getting matching towels and things for the master bath. WHEW! I realize that I have gone a little crazy, so I am done with home decorating for now. My new project is food storage! Larry's a little bit easier on me with that because the prophets have told us to do it!Soon, Larry will probably decide he likes it better when I am at work during the day, because then I don't have time to do shopping! No, seriously, I REALLY am stopping.
This is the closet and Pack-n-Play Bryton has been sleeping in (See, it's big enough-there's a window and everything! I swear we're good parents!)

This is how his room looks now. Larry's mom made the curtains for him (Thanks Gail!). He still needs a few things, such as a dresser, but we are getting there.

This is my new picture wall with the frames. Now I just need to get more pictures of my baby to fill them!

Another cute new picture of Bryton

Wow you did a great job decorating...I love your new bedspread. Nice to get new stuff...the sad thing is it is all just beginning. It never ends. I spend WAY more now that I am a mom...but everyone of my purchases is easily justified so at least it makes me feel better!
Dannnnng, I didn't know you were so good at decorating! Dang girl! Love it all :)
You did such a great job decorating!
We went cold turkey on Carson at 6 months as well and it went smoother than we expected. After just a couple of nights he stopped getting up and has slept through the night since. You are going to be SO GLAD that you did it!!!
